Another District Settles and a Call to Action

Another district settles for more than we even ask for! Should we settle for less than we asked??? If not, we need to make sure the district knows that a competitive wage is important to us! Be at the board meeting on Tuesday, August 4th at 6pm. RSVP @

Desert Sands teachers will receive a 7.93 percent raise, which includes a 2 percent raise retroactive to July 1, 2014. The raise also includes an additional 5.93 percent effective July 1, 2015 as part of the two year-contract that will extend into this coming school year.

Teachers will also receive additional compensation for 10 extra minutes of non-instructional time, and two additional professional development days. Medical benefits will be capped at $12,877, and Special Education teachers will receive a stipend of about $1,005 in the 2015-2016 school year.
